This table is in what I call a "race track oval", decidedly different than a true ellipse. It has a leaf that will let the table expand to seat six diners. It does not store inside the table due to the pedestal base that is a tapered bent lamination. The veneers are hand sawn from Bolivian Rosewood, laid in a bookmatched sunburst radial pattern. The rim, as well as the string inlay, is Curly English Sycamore. The solid Bolivian Rosewood chairs feature a spring back and deep cushions with a woven rubber strap support over an open seat frame. These chairs, with their graceful curves, are not only visually stunning but a joy to sit in!
